Medical Assistant (Plastic Surgery)
Busy Plastic Surgery Center in Austin, Texas is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our team. We are looking for someone with an energetic "make it happen" attitude and someone who encourages others to be their best. The position requires intuitive interpersonal skills accompanied by a positive mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and nurses in providing exceptional patient care within the fields of plastic surgery, hormone replacement, weight loss, and nutrition.
- Prepare patients for examination, ensuring their comfort and privacy.
- Collect and document patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information.
- Perform various clinical tasks, such as dressing changes, wound care, suture removal, and administering medications as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Coordinate and assist with patient procedures and surgeries, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Educate patients on pre and post-operative care instructions, hormone replacement therapy protocols, weight loss strategies, and nutrition plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation of patient progress.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth and efficient clinic operations.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Keep abreast of the latest advancements in plastic surgery, hormone replacement therapy, weight loss, and nutrition to provide high-quality care to our patients.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of plastic surgery procedures, hormone replacement therapy, weight loss strategies, and nutrition principles.
- Proficiency in performing clinical tasks, such as wound care, suture removal, and medication administration.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care and establish rapport with patients.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and prioritizing accordingly.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
- Current CPR certification.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
