ForrestPerkins Senior Project Manager Interiors

ForrestPerkins, a distinct studio of Perkins Eastman, has an immediate opening for a hospitality focused Senior Project Manager. A Project Manager is a leadership position with the responsibility of overseeing interior design projects from inception through completion. We are seeking an individual with strong design, technical and communication skills who can work with and direct the project team through all phases of a project, including presentations, client interaction, schedule management and financial performance. This person will work closely with Studio leadership in the day-to-day management of the interiors staff and communication across offices on staffing and project related issues.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist Studio Leader in developing design services proposals and negotiating contracts.
• Responsible for creating staffing plans and managing project deliverables to meet project milestones.
• Proficient at managing and maintaining client relationships.
• Lead/assist project team in the development of project deliverables, including interior architectural documentation and FF&E specifications.
• Mentor junior staff
• Coordinate with Project Managers across the firm on matters concerning staff assignments, resource utilization and project deliverables.
• Oversee project financials including budget development, fee management and invoicing.
• Managing project team, both internal and external, to ensure proper coordination with all consultants and project team members.

• Prepares accurate timelines, task lists, and project schedules.
• Maintains relationships with existing clients and works on developing new clients.
• Participates in monthly project Financial Reviews and is responsible for financial status of project.
• Has a thorough understanding of hotel brands in the 4–5-star range?
• Has mastered a working knowledge of brand standards and proven ability to execute them.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree – from a 4-year CIDA accredited Interior Design program or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 to 15 years of hospitality design experience
• NCIDQ certification
• Technology:
  • MS Office Proficient
  • Photoshop Proficient
  • Auto CAD- Proficiency Preferred
  • Revit- Proficiency Preferred and/ or basic knowledge.
  • In Design and/ or Illustrator- Basic Knowledge
  • Sketch Up- Basic Knowledge
• Possesses interpersonal, verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
• Experience in writing FF&E specifications and developing FF&E matrices.
• FF&E budgeting
• Possesses knowledge of building codes and the ADA
• Review and understand with basic proficiency detailed construction documents including floor plans, elevations and sections, electrical details, finish schedules, furniture floor plans, FF&E specifications, finish boards, materials and finishes to determine compliance in quality and design work with team to complete such documentation and assist in coordination with other consultant’s documents.
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Space planning & hand sketching a plus
• Ability to work with Architect and have a thorough understanding of architectural interior design.
• Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
