Position: Senior Sensor Operations Systems Engineer

Location: Jessup, MD

Peraton is on the lookout for a dynamic Senior Sensor Operations Systems Engineer to propel our Cyber Mission business unit to new heights. Situated in the heart of Jessup, MD, this role offers you the unique opportunity to contribute to one of the most significant engineering endeavors within the Intelligence Community. As a vital member of our team, you will:

  • Champion Engineering Excellence: Lead the charge in systems engineering, ensuring the seamless operation and integration of cutting-edge SIGINT sensor technologies.Drive Strategic Program Planning: Craft compelling Concept of Operations documents, meticulously plan task schedules, and lay down the roadmap for engineering and integration efforts that align with strategic objectives.
  • Navigate Project Success: Seamlessly gather project requirements, conduct rigorous technical and programmatic analysis, and present alternative solutions to ensure projects triumph from inception to completion.
  • Foster Technological Innovation: Stay ahead of the curve by identifying and investigating new technologies.
  • Engage with vendors to bring innovative solutions that shape future operations.
  • Guide Legacy Transformation: Spearhead the transition of legacy systems, ensuring a harmonious migration to a unified sensor and data operations framework that meets all system requirements.
  • Enhance Organizational Synergy: Maintain an overarching view of sensor efforts and systems, identifying commonalities and opportunities to streamline programs for maximum efficiency.
  • Empower Decision-Making: Provide indispensable advice and technical support to our government customers, assisting them in procurement, integration, sustainment, and testing to achieve strategic objectives.

Qualifications

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 20 years of general systems engineering experience; a Master’s degree or PhD in a qualified engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 18 years of general systems engineering experience; or a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 24 years of general systems engineering experience.
  • Ability to deconstruct top-level requirements to functional requirements for systems solutions that account for technical, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Ability to support management in the planning, de-confliction, and deployment of SIGINT systems for operations in coordination with supported government customer and other government department and agency partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform technical planning, systems integration, data verification and validation, data flow, cost and risk analysis, and supportability/effectiveness analysis for newly integrated systems.
  • Knowledgeable of SIGINT sensor systems, SIGINT collection and processing methods.
  • Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:

  • Demonstrated ability to work through technical and organizational challenges to achieve mission success.
  • Experience with tactical SIGINT, especially the use of SIGINT payloads on UAV platforms strongly desired.
  • Experience with program transitioning and decommissioning planning desired.
  • Practical experience managing both program and technical issues for multiple on-going SIGINT projects.
  • Experience in collaborating with peer organizations and representing customer’s projects to external organizations.
  • Ability to successfully advocate for customers positions while maintain collegial relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience working with organizations to overcome barriers to success and create shared solutions.
  • Knowledge of System Security Accreditation processes and standards.
  • Experience with hardware/software development especially with communications related systems.
  • Knowledge of collaboration tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • Strong personal communications skills, self-motivated, team player.

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
