Responsibilities

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Jr. Network Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

As a Jr. Network Engineer, you will work with a team in the design, support, installation, and maintenance of our customer’s network infrastructure, related technologies, and equipment. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to our customers. We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology and has an aptitude for problem solving.

In addition, you will coordinate network changes and communicate with impacted stakeholders, perform project work to install, update and/or replace network equipment and troubleshoot network connectivity issues. This is a technical hands-on position in which you will work on and maintain hardware components as needed, including firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches. 

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

• Provide technical assistance to via phone, email, and other remote methods.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues related to networking systems and protocols.
• Assist with product installation, configuration, and upgrades.
• Research technical issues and provide timely and accurate resolutions.
• Monitor network performance and identify potential issues.
• Document service requests and solutions.
• Work with internal teams to identify and address customer needs.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• DoD 8570.O1M IAT Level II, CompTIA Security or equivalent certification or completion within 6 months of hire
• Candidates must have the ability to get a Secret Clearance.

Desired Skills:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent
• 1-2 years of hands-on experience with LAN and WAN networking.
• Cloud Experience with AWS or Azure
• Microsoft Visio
• Additional Requirements include lifting and bending as required to support equipment installation.
• Occasional travel in support of the contract
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
