Job Description:

The Senior Network Engineer will provide technical support for the client’s transport network activities. As well as analyzing and recommending appropriate need for circuit speed based on the number of personnel located at the client’s facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all aspects of a data circuit order to ensure it is completed on-time and within budget.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and vendors to complete circuit orders.
• Prepare reports for management regarding the status of existing circuits or circuit orders.
• Utilize spreadsheets and other systems to track work, circuits, and circuit orders.
• Review and compile data to respond to data calls from management and internal stakeholders.
• Resolve trouble tickets related to circuits.
• Provide circuit utilization and latency reports.
• Apply technical and business experience and understanding to improve processes and procedures for deploying and maintaining network infrastructure.
• Work independently and collectively to help improve network solutions and contribute to network service improvements.

Required Experience:

• 5 years of relevant Information Technology (IT) experience with specialization in networking technologies, specifically with Cisco switches and routers and resolving complex Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) issues.
• Expert knowledge of Internet Protocol (IP), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS), Stateful firewalls and encryption technologies
• Working knowledge of network management tools, such as Riverbed, Wireshark, Micro
• Focus Network Automation, etc.
• Working knowledge of web applications, web servers, application load balancers and storage systems.
• Must have good knowledge of general security tools and methodologies such as firewalls, Intrusion Detection Sensor (IDS)/Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and access control lists.

Education: (Preferred)

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related area

Certifications: (Preferred)

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise, Data Center and/or Security Certification

Clearance:

• Must be US Citizen with Active Top-Secret Clearance
