CNC Machinist

The CNC Operator is responsible for producing machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $18 / hour
What you'll be doing as a CNC Machinist:
  • Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
  • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
  • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
  • Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
  • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
  • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
Available shifts:
Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day)
Job requirements:
  • Adept with the usage of Mastercam software (desired not required)
  • Adept with Haas and Milltronics Mills preferred
  • Analyze blueprints and calculate and translate information to CAM program
  • Determine the sequence of shaping operations and choose cutting tools needed
  • Thorough understanding and capability in writing G-code programs and/or conversational
  • Write programs or modify existing programs to store on machine controller
  • Good reading comprehension, mathematical knowledge and listening skills
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and inspection of own work
  • Proficient use of manual mills and lathes
  • Knowledge in basic machining principles (i.e., speeds, feeds, tooling, etc.)
  • Strong problem solving/troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs as well as operate forklifts/be forklift certified
  • Communicate and work efficiently in a team environment
  • Possess organizational skills and be able to work with continually changing priorities while meeting production schedules and due dates.
  • Various other shop duties as asked/required.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
