Job Purpose
Responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining a Microsoft 365 tenant. Design, analyze, and provide technical support for network and infrastructure systems that directly or indirectly support the Agency’s Microsoft 365 tenants. Conduct research and evaluation of technology and recommend purchases for equipment, software, and vendors needed to support Microsoft 365 based systems and other infrastructure.
Essential Functions
· Configure and customize Microsoft 365 services to meet the organization's specific needs, including customizing SharePoint sites, Teams channels, and security settings.
· Administer and manage user accounts, licenses, and permissions within the Microsoft 365 admin center. This includes creating and managing user groups, setting up policies, and managing security features.
· Provide technical support to end-users experiencing issues with Microsoft 365 applications and services.
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to email, collaboration tools, and other Microsoft 365 components.
· Implement security measures to protect data within Microsoft 365 and other systems, including configuring data loss prevention (DLP) policies, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and encryption.
· Assist senior IT or Legal Department team members with Governance, Regulations, and Compliance (GRC), “Right to Know” (RTK) public information requests, and legal searches.
· Conduct training sessions for end-users to educate them on effectively using Microsoft 365 applications and services and promote user adoption of new features and functionalities.
· Monitor the performance and usage of Microsoft 365 services and applications.
· Identify areas for optimization and implement best practices to improve efficiency and user experience.
· Integrate Microsoft 365 with other third-party applications and services to enhance productivity and collaboration within the organization.
· Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect PHFA data, ensuring business continuity in the event of data loss or system failure.
· Stay informed about the latest updates, features, and best practices related to Microsoft 365 through continuous learning and professional development.
Job Requirements
Education/Experience: Experience and skills required for this position are generally acquired through a combination of a Bachelor's Degree and three to five years of related experience, but previous work experience may be substituted for a formal education/degree.
Knowledge/ Skills:
· Knowledge of public and private cloud-based platforms such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services.
· Demonstrated ability to design and coordinate the implementation of complex solutions in both on-premises and cloud-based systems.
· Ability to develop and write systems and applications documentation and user guides.
· Ability to provide a range of systems training and/or support activities for users.
· Ability to develop relationships with vendors providing solutions to the Agency.
· Ability to coordinate vendors to resolve operations issues.
· Azure Active Directory (Entra) and AD Sync experience.
· Basic knowledge of on-prem Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP implementation, operations, and management.
· Conditional Access Policies and Risk-Based Access troubleshooting.
· Knowledge of security principles, protocols, and administration.
· Azure Infrastructure knowledge. (Networking, server, and backup configuration) is highly desired.
· Specific experience within a Microsoft 365 hybrid Active Directory environment is highly desired.
· Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or other relevant Microsoft 365 certifications are a plus.
· Knowledge of routing, switching, and firewall operations a plus.
· VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and Horizon VDI experience a plus.
· DKIM, SPF, DMARC, and other mail security protocol knowledge are a plus.
· Cisco IronPort, Fortra Clearswift, or other mail security platform knowledge is a plus.
· Exchange Hybrid troubleshooting experience a plus.
· Enterprise App integration/troubleshooting a plus.
