Job Description: The Forecasting team serves as a key partner to Commercial leadership, providing strategic guidance and data-backed insights. This role is instrumental in driving commercial success for our inline assets and shaping future strategies for our critical brands in the US. The Director of Forecasting will oversee a team of >5 talented individuals (full-time FTE Contingent Workers) and is responsible for leading the forecasting efforts (short and long-term) for several brands and therapeutic areas within the US General Medicine business. The individual in this role will need to influence and challenge a diverse set of stakeholders from Commercial, Medical, Finance, Manufacturing, Access, and Pricing/Contracting, while proficiently understanding the nuances of each business area they support. They will serve as mentors, developing talent and guiding the team while providing technical guidance in forecasting methodologies. Additionally, the Director will articulate the interplay between Forecasting and related functions within Commercial Data & Analytics, or CD&A (Market Research, Competitive Intelligence, Analytics, Marketing Investment Optimization, and Data strategy) in contributing to the forecast.

Location: Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks office. You will work on-site 2-3 days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary point of contact for senior Therapeutic Area leaders to engage in the forecasting deliverables for the organization.
  • Facilitate consensus-building among senior stakeholders to establish clear, transparent, and rigorous sales expectations for the US business by gaining their alignment and endorsement for forecast assumptions.
  • Help leadership identify actionable strategies to maximize Commercial potential by identifying and prioritizing relevant risks & opportunities.
  • Develop an objective point of view of brand strategy by integrating insights across multiple functions and capability areas.
  • Leverage communication and interpersonal skills to influence leadership on recommended course of action.
  • Quantify uncertainty using scenario planning and advanced simulation models (e.g. Monte Carlo analysis, statistical trending)
  • Apply an in-depth understanding of diverse pharmaceutical data sources (eg. LAAD, National Audit Rx, Xponent, Epidemiology data sources etc) and their nuances to develop and implement enhanced forecasting approaches and methodologies.
  • Build and deliver effective presentations that are transparent and articulate all key variables in the forecast, ensuring clarity and comprehensive understanding for stakeholders involved in decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with the broader CD&A (Commercial Data & Analytics) organization to integrate comprehensive insights and analytics knowledge into the development and refinement of forecasts. This collaboration aims to enhance the depth and accuracy of forecasts by using a broad spectrum of insights across the organization.
  • Offer strategic insights derived from extensive US market knowledge across various business units and therapeutic areas to contribute valuable inputs for pipeline assets.
  • Drive productivity and efficiency, streamlining forecasting processes where possible.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of experience in forecasting and/or analytics, or Master’s degree and 8 years of experience in forecasting and/or analytics, or Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience in forecasting and/or analytics – and 4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and leadership experience leading teams, brands, projects, programs, or directing the allocation of resources.
  • Leadership experience in building and developing hard-working teams.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility with and influence SVP level staff.
  • Alignment of teams to key practices and championing new innovative methodologies and tools.
  • Eye for business that lends itself to understanding the context and dynamics of pharmaceutical markets for relevant disease areas.
  • Partnership with business leaders to deliver high-quality predictions guiding strategic decision-making.
  • Oral, written, and presentation skills to explain complex concepts and controversial findings clearly to a variety of audiences, including senior management.

Pay rate: The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $170,000.00-$210,000 bonus stock
