SUMMARY:

Assist the South Bend Facility Manager with preventative maintenance and general repairs to the Philadelphia machines, tooling, and facility. Perform set-ups and adjustments to production equipment and tooling as needed. Verify and maintain all new tooling to ensure it meets the quality requirements of the Manufacturer. Assist the Operations Manager as need to ensure the KPI’s of the operation are met. This includes working in all facets of the Philadelphia operations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• 6 months to 2 years’ experience in general maintenance preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED Preferred or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

TECHNICAL and/or MANAGERIAL JOB COMPETENCIES:

• Basic repair and maintenance techniques and practices
• Safe work practices and policies
• Basic electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical knowledge
• General machining ability, a plus
• Basic troubleshoot skills.
• General Microsoft office knowledge (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Team player
• Ability to handle pressure.
• Basic arithmetic
• Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• First responder to production equipment that is down or damaged.
• Assist in all preventative maintenance programs.
• Assist in troubleshooting quality issues caused by tooling/machines.
• Prove out new tooling coming in from Suppliers.
• Maintain the required amounts of wearable tooling.
• Order replacement tooling through South Bend Facility Manager (in South Bend)
• Become Effective in all value-add skills.
• Maintain all hand tools.
• Perform assembly operations as needed.
• Maintain lighting throughout the facility.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Assist with layout changes throughout the facility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Manual lifting to 35 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 70 lbs. on occasion (with assistance).
• Repetitive detailed work with hands for 8 hours of the day.
• Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours.
• Be able to reach overhead with or without the aid of a ladder or step stool.
• Ability to Grip/Grasp at least 8 hours of the day.
