We are seeking experienced Preschool Professionals to join our team and co-teach a class of up to twelve toddlers, ages 20 months to 2 year olds. This position may also include assisting in supervising our mixed age (20 months - 5 years) after school programing. This position is set to begin in July 2024.

About Us:

Peekadoodle Prep and Academy Preschool is a licensed toddler and preschool program that fosters independent and creative thinking through both guided exploration and opportunities to learn through play. Our toddler (Prep) program begins at 20 months, and its curriculum is centered on the whole child through cognitive, social/emotional, and physical development. Our program uses a balanced approach with developmentally appropriate practices that encourage child-guided, active exploration of thought-provoking questions about their world.

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate to develop and implement a balanced, age-appropriate curriculum with the assistance of Peekadoodle’s curriculum specialists
• Friendly interaction with parents and caregivers, including updating the information app with lessons of the day and responding to parent emails
• Set-up and clean-up classroom and be responsible for the classroom esthetics
• Attend all teacher meetings and complete administrative tasks assigned by Director of Education, Operations, or Curriculum
• Prepare quarterly progress reports (narrative email) on the development of the children to send to families
• Assist in extend-care for the school, which may include nap time supervision as well as mixed age play supervision

Skills and Abilities:

• Energetic self-starter who displays a professional and friendly demeanor and loves kids.
• Background knowledge of child development and experience with teaching techniques, ECE philosophy, classroom management, and parent interaction.
• One year of preschool teaching experience preferred, but not required.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds as well as be able to climb, crouch, kneel, bend, balance, stoop, or crawl and be on the floor with young children. Toddler teachers must perform diapering.
