Overview

Regional Obstetric Consultants, a busy, 8 provider MFM practice with 3 offices located in Jacksonville is seeking a casual part time perinatal sonographer with MFM experience.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patient and family to and from examination room.
• Explains exam to patient and family prior to the commencement of the test to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
• Acquires anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
• Maintains patient charts and records, and records/processes sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the procedure for presentation to the interpreting physician.
• Creates a preliminary report for physician review/signature.
• Reviews studies with physicians.
• Assists physician with procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
• Codes appropriate for services performed.
• Maintains proper operation of the ultrasound equipment.
• Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action.
• Maintains laundry for examination rooms.
• Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies.
• Follows the accredited laboratory protocols for obtaining two-dimensional images, color flow, Doppler, and m-mode where applicable.
• Follows and complies with universal precautions and OSHA standards.
• Follows and complies with safety and security training.
• Rotates as needed to cover Sonographer absences.
• Performs related and other assigned duties as directed.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be ARDMS certified in OB/Gyn.
• Nuchal translucency/Nasal bone experience preferred, but not required.
• Fetal echo experience a plus, but not required.
• Candidate must be a great team player, willing to learn with our group of sonographers and physicians who work well together.
• Our practice follows AIUM guidelines and is accredited in OB and detailed scans, as well as fetal echocardiography.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPR certification required.
• Satisfactory completion of one of the following; at least two (2) years in Allied Health Educational Program and one (1) year on-the-job- training in ultrasonography, or completion of an approved ultrasonography educational program.
