Peak Consulting Group is Hiring an Accountant Near Lakewood, CO

Job Title: Peak Consulting Group – Accountant

FLSA Status: Nonexempt (Hourly) – 20 Hours a week

Prepared By/Date: Human Resources – 4/27/24

Summary: Accountant is responsible for accounting tasks, accounts payable, accounts receivable support, job costing, government compliance, contract administration, financial systems, and administrative support at Peak Consulting Group. Accountant supports month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

❑ Oversee assigned accounting workflow and processing tasks within the Ajera ERP system. Must aspire to become proficient in the Ajera ERP system and resolve data entry and processing issues, including coordination with Ajera ERP system support teams.

❑ Responsible for the Accounts Payable process. Review vendor invoices, employee expenses, credit cards, and other company expenses. Responsible for reviewing, coding, and entering vendor invoices. The task includes matching agreements, contracts, and client procedures. Must follow chart of accounts and government compliance guidance. Records expenses, reconcile accounts, and remits payments.

❑ Remits payments by check, ACH, and wires. Adheres to company treasury management policies and internal control procedures.

❑ Participate in periodic client billing, invoice preparation, supporting document compilation, and distribution to internal project managers and clients.

❑ Review incoming bank deposits, ACH payments, and electronic funding by clients. Match to client invoices and code documents and enter them into the Ajera ERP system.

❑ Manage and review the Accounts Payable Aging report and vendor payment recommended list. Provide weekly payment recommendations and management support. Perform daily review of Accounts Receivable Aging report and coordinate client collections and actions with project coordinator and management.

❑ Organize the company's online financial filing structure (SharePoint), including folders, document names, and contents. This task includes supporting the company's financial and operational document storage program.

❑ Support month-end close tasks to include Balance sheet reconciliations, job cost review, journal entries, revenue recognition, internal control review, and distribution of financial reports to management. Work directly with CPA and accounting management to meet monthly deadlines.

❑ Support project and budget set up in Ajera ERP system to adhere to client contract performance and billing requirements. Coordinate with operations team members on project set up and monitoring project performance.

❑ Participates in job cost analysis and cost variance analysis. Identifies discrepancies and unusual postings for review with management. Implements corrective actions within the Ajera ERP system.

❑ Records, or directs recording of, new or changed client contract rates/change orders in the Ajera ERP system.

❑ Maintains federal, state, and local tax compliance, including payroll, sales, use, business personal property, and federal/state tax return information.

❑ Support team members and management with various tasks that include administrative, project, employee, technology tasks.

❑ Works with team to establish system controls for financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems. Internal control is the company's highest priority.

❑ Coordinates preparation of external audit materials, tax return information, and external financial requirements.

❑ Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting internal accounting procedures.

❑ Create and recommend procedures to improve efficiency and improve internal control.

Education/Experience:

Bachelors' degree (B. A.) preferred in Accounting/Finance or equivalent; or four to ten years professional services and accounting/finance and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Ajera ERP System Edition.
