Summary

Assists the Controller in managing, operating, and reviewing all accounting functions including the financial reporting and cash management while creating adhoc complex reports and analyses. In additional, responsible for full cycle accounting for corporate subsidiaries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and assist in the implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management and accounting.
• Ensure all accounting functions are performed in an accurate, complete, and timely manner in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP) and Peachtree Orthopedics' policies and procedures.
• Prepare and assist in the preparation of and reviews various financial statements and reports.
• Establish system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems by reviewing workflows and driving continuous process improvements.
• Maintain accurate accounting records for all company transactions and safeguards company assets.
• Maintain a strong and effective system of internal financial controls for the organization.
• Manage the daily transactions for corporate subsidiaries including payables/checks, bank transactions and preparation of financial statements.
• Manage, review, and prepare month-end journal entries and balance sheet account analysis.
• Reconcile the Accounts Receivable system and the related bank activity.
• Manage all bank transactions related to loans, medical claims, flexible spending, and payroll.
• Maintain a system for tracking non-patient related physician revenue.
• Assist and review the complex calculations of PA bonuses, physician draws, Due To/(From) reconciliations, threshold and distributions.
• Create and/or maintain various spreadsheets for data tracking.
• Provide support to the Controller for the month end closing process as needed.
• Prepare complex reports including adhoc reporting for C-Level executives.
• Supervise, direct, and control the work of at least 2 full-time accounting clerks/staff accountants.

Education and Experience

• Master’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or a CPA is required
• Five plus years of extensive accounting experience.
• Strong accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliation and account analysis required. Required knowledge of Accounting principles and spreadsheets.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or a CPA is required

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from physicians and/or vendors, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Accounting Software.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee frequently is required to move all extremities within full range of motion as well as stoop and bend at 90 degrees. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods of time and to work in an environment which can be very stressful. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This is a full-time position. This position may require long hours. May be required to travel to one or more satellite locations.
