PDQ STAFFING is Hiring a Maintenance Helper (FT) Near Lewisville, TX
Must be able to work in a cold, freezer environment. Flexible to work weekends and OT*
Shift hours: Sun-Thu 6 am-2:30 pm (finishing time may vary depending on the work orders)
Major Function:
- Maintenance Helper will be able to complete general maintenance on the facility and production
- equipment.
- The preferred candidate will have a basic understanding of mechanical principles with a minimum of 1-year of experience.
- Candidates will be in training for 30-90 days.
- The maintenance helper will safely carry out his/her responsibilities and assist the maintenance team as needed. They are also expected to perform duties unsupervised, once properly trained.
- Perform preventative maintenance on conveyors and ovens, (including repairing conveyor belts and replacing and lubricating bearings) and any other plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair turntables, label machines, and all small equipment.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust as needed.
- Assist in planned maintenance, breakdown repair and condition monitoring activities of plant equipment.
- Replace chains, sprockets, shafts, etc.
- Motors: troubleshooting and installation are a plus.
- Basic electrical repairs (troubleshooting of low voltage, switches, plugs and timers).
- General HVAC knowledge is desirable, with the ability to change filters and clean coils, etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of hand tools (tools are provided)
- Assist with mechanical repairs of all assets
- General Plumbing: working with PVC and Copper pipes.
- Collect and dispose of machine debris and assist with shop cleanliness
- Replacing light bulbs, sockets, lighting panels, and the occasional painting.
- Follow all SOPs and adhere to all food safety policies.
- Learn and understand specific USDA and FDA plant requirements.
- Valid Texas driver’s license.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Working overtime may be required.
- General knowledge of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
- Pass down daily activities and outstanding maintenance issues.
- Must be able to work, day or night shifts.
- Ability to work in cold and hot environments, going back and forth between temperatures.
- While performing the duties of this job, you are required to stand, stoop, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills.
