As a mission-oriented grocer with a focus on education, PCC Community Markets is looking for an Associate Instructional Designer with strong facilitation experience to work on advancing our educational initiatives. Instructional Designers and Educators are welcome to apply.

The Associate Instructional Designer position serves as PCCs primary administrator for our Learning Management System (LMS) by overseeing system and content setup, course enrollment, user training, and reporting. The Associate Instructional Designer is also responsible for working with Subject Matter Experts to support the design, facilitation, implementation, and maintenance of individual training programs.

$27.23 - $35.40/hourly or $56,640 - $73,626/annually, depending on experience.

Main Job Responsibilities:
  • Participates in the creation, planning, and implementation of training programs.
  • Provides user support to access LMS courses, login issues, and escalating system and software issues through collaboration with vendors, IT, and HR.
  • Ensures staff are set up correctly with training tracks and reporting structure.
  • Builds and/or runs reports to show user status or other metric data.
  • Assists in preparing and updating all training materials in line with adult learning principles.
  • Provides quality control of courses/content and verifies every aspect of the online learning material and experience: navigation, functionality, grammar, spelling, course interactions, etc.
  • May design training aids such as instructional materials, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids.
  • Coordinates language translations for training content.
  • Coordinate with outside content providers as directed.
  • Assists in ensuring training content and communications are equitable, diverse, and inclusive.
  • Facilitates New Staff Orientation on a regular basis and facilitates other in-person training as needed.
  • May assist with needs assessment, instructional design, evaluation, and other administrative tasks.
  • This position works consistently at a light physical work level and may be asked to work on occasion at a medium or heavy physical work level when supporting stores or other offsite events. Frequently required to sit, walk, reach, and grasp. Occasionally required to be on feet with a mix of standing and walking throughout shift.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

REQUIRED:

  • 3 years' experience working with a learning management system and being able to design to learning industry standards (SCORM/AICC/xAPI/etc.).
  • 3 years experience working with eLearning authoring tools.
  • 3 years experience facilitating various trainings in a classroom setting.
  • Ability to learn and navigate new software with ease and a desire to uncover all features of a system.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Demonstrated project management, collaboration, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently, utilizing resources to problem-solve with well-judged decisions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills (MS Office, Access, Excel, Word, graphics, etc.) and strong writing ability are essential.
  • Available to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to PCC location.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

PREFERRED:

  • Prior experience with Bridge LMS and Articulate 360.
  • Bi-lingual.
  • Prior training facilitation experience.
