Need a Desktop Engineer in Houston TX 77002
Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Act as the onsite support for all users as instructed by Client:
  • Resolve all incidents not resolved by Client’s first level helpdesk which includes issues pertaining to all hardware and software: (hardware will include all desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, monitors and other peripherals and technology assets):
  • Assist in supporting all software on the desktops and laptops following the support guidelines provided by Client:
  • Perform all required installs, moves,, adds, change tasks which include software and hardware:
  • Update and resolve incidents and IMAC in ticketing tool
  • Act as onsite support for all users
  • Be the hands and eyes for Client’s helpdesk and 1st level support:
Out of Scope Activities:
Client may request that the assigned resource perform out of scope activities. For out of scope activities related to high priority incidents, the assigned resource shall perform the requested services without Client’s approval if:
  • Based on the qualifications and experience of the assigned resource, the assigned resource is able to completely perform the requested service:
  • The requested service is required for resolution of the incident:
  • The requested service is reasonably related to the responsibilities of a dedicated technician described in his section
For scheduled out of scope activities, the assigned resource will notify Client and obtain approval from Client’s Client Operations Manager. The assigned resource shall maintain accurate records of out of scope activities which shall be provided to Client on Client’s request.
Required Skills
  • Experienced in Active Directory user administration, OS imaging processes, ticketing, SW installation and imaging tools, automated help desk systems, troubleshooting in the Windows desktop environment (networking, OS, Microsoft Office suite, PC hardware, printers), network and local printer installation
technical skills – Windows 7, Windows 10, MS Office Suite, Exchange, Active Directory, Networking, Wired and Wireless, Desktop and Laptop basic HW knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of SCCM client troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, Windows Security (Share and NTFS permissions).
  • Knowledge Windows OS and related configuration.
  • Knowledge of Servers, Switches, Routers, and Data Center related HW
  • Basic knowledge of Backup technologies
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented multi tower and vendor environments.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work, and
  • Ability to adapt to new processes and procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to handle and safeguard confidential information
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to deliver services on time, demonstrate strong customer service skills, and achieve a high degree of end user satisfaction
  • Ability to convey technical issues and material to non-technical end users and managers
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
Needs Level 1 Engineer or beyond with experience in troubleshooting Desktop, Network and software issues, including but not limited to such functions as applications support, software support, hardware support and printer-network mapping.
Required Education
High school/College/Military/Tech School/IT course.
Required Years of Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience providing IT support services required, end user support experience preferred.
Engagement terms:
  • Location: Houston TX 77002
  • Hourly rate/Monthly salary: $18-20/hr. ONLY on 1099 basis. Please provide the best hourly rate and monthly salary.
  • Candidates should require having a Professional and general liability insurance that is typical of an independent contractor for 1099.
    It is quite cheap and easy to get this insurance.
  • Start Date – ASAP
  • Duration: 4 months
  • Positions: 2
  • Background Investigation Required: Yes.
  • Background checks and drug screen required.
  • Estimated start date: ASAP.
  • Candidates need to start immediately within 1-2 weeks’ notice.
