POSITION ROLE

The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting strategic decision-making within an organization by providing insightful financial analysis and recommendations. The person in this role will play a critical role in helping the organization make informed financial decisions by analyzing financial data and trends.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
    1. Develop and maintain financial models to analyze and forecast company performance.
    2. Prepare budgetary and financial reports for management to aid in decision-making.
    3. Conduct variance analysis to compare actual financial results with forecasts and identify key drivers for performance.
  2. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    1. Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data to provide insights and recommendations.
    2. Generate regular and ad-hoc financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    3. Present findings and analysis to management, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
  3. Forecasting and Budgeting:
    1. Assist in budgeting process by working with different departments to gather relevant information.
    2. Support the development of financial forecasts and business plans.
    3. Monitor and report on budget versus actual performance, identifying areas of concern or improvement.
  4. Financial Modeling:
    1. Build and maintain financial models to assess the impact of various financial decisions.
    2. Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate potential outcomes and risks.
    3. Provide recommendations based on financial modeling results.
  5. Ad Hoc Projects:
    1. Contribute to special projects and initiatives as required by the organization.
    2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

To be qualified, the Financial Analyst must have:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience: Five years or more accounting experience using Power BI, cloud based accounting software and data modeling tools required in a healthcare setting.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis tools, and financial software. Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present findings and recommendations.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify and solve complex financial problems.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to Changing priorities and deadlines.
*This is a HYBRID position that will be be Remote and in the Birmingham, AL office*
