Description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for the management, direction and organization of restaurant operations to maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, service and marketing to maximize profits through outstanding customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Implement, maintain, and enforce all standard operating procedures for the restaurant.
  • Train, motivate, and lead front-house staff in delivering excellence daily.
  • Management of schedules, floor plans, and special events.
  • Inventory, product orders, stock maintenance.
  • Ensure the complete delight of every guest and visitor.

REQUIRED ABILITIES:

  • Thorough knowledge of restaurant operations and preparation techniques.
  • Knowledge of fine dining, craft beverage operations, and fine wines.
  • Strong mathematical abilities in order to determine and track inventory, controls, revenue productions, and other financial statements.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and to collect accurate information and to resolve problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
  • Interpersonal skills to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
  • Guest-oriented problem-solving.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Attend mandatory meetings.
  • Administration of employee records, sales reports, and other professional documents
  • Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
  • Must adhere to all State, Federal and County liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:

The following skills are specifically applicable to this position:

  • Familiarity with Aloha POS and Yelp Reservations
  • Minimum of two experience in dining management.

Qualifications


SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages.
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
  • Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of administrative office tasks.
  • Familiarity with standard office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests, manage reservations, and conduct other business for the restaurant.
  • Ability to consistently resolve guest complaints beyond the guests expectations
  • Ability to motivate and inspire a team to reach the highest possible standards.
  • Ability to work and stand in confined spaces for long periods of time.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

EDUCATION

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of two experience in dining management.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

  • CA State Food Handlers permit required and Alcohol Service permit required.
  • CPR/1st Aid certification preferred.
