DSPs at PCL support individuals who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities in their own homes and in the community and help provide the support they need to live self-directed lives. DSPs work with the people they support in partnership as a tool helping them with making informed decisions about everyday choices, advocating for them while encouraging them to advocate for themselves, and supporting them in maintaining meaningful relationships with those that mean the most to them. DSPs act as mentors and understand that each person they may support has different preferences and needs. While there are some aspects of caregiving as a DSP, there is so much more to it. For most of the people we support, we are helping them be as independent as they can. DSPs will be required to have the knowledge and understanding of mental health and positive behavioral supports.

Job Type: Full-Time - all open shift hours are set and vary depending on the needs of the individual. Hours 30 and above are considered full-time. Some set part-time shifts may be available.

Pay: $17.50 per hour - Some shifts may have added differentials that are applied after all training is completed. We are also offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus that is paid out in increments at set milestones of your employment!
