Position Overview:
The Workers' Compensation & Leave Of Absence Technician handles Workers’ Comp claims, including maintaining full compliance with quality standards and state-specific regulations.
This technician provides assistance and consultation to leadership in the areas of hazard assessment, ergonomics, accident investigation, return-to-work, and fitness-for-duty services.
This position plays a key role in safety, injury prevention, infection prevention, and safety/wellness committees.
The WC & LOA Technician is also responsible for administering, analyzing, and enforcing PCL’s leave policies and procedures, including leave of absence, sick, holidays, and other types of leave.
They will have a thorough understanding of the legal implications of leave policies and be able to administer them professionally and timely.
Job Details:
Location: Monmouth, OR (with occasional travel)
Position Type: Full-time (40 hours/week), Regularly Scheduled, hourly.
Education Requirements: High school diploma/GED required. Preference will be given to those with HR Certification or ongoing education in Human Resources or a related field
Experience Requirements: 1 - 2 years of experience in Human Resources or as a supervisor. Additional preference is given to those with experience in the field of I/DD.
Must be at least of legal age when employment begins.
Pass a State/Federal Criminal History Check.
Background screening, including employment and education history.
Pre-employment drug screening (for the use of illegal substances in Oregon).
Valid Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
Be able to be certified and maintain certification with First Aid/CPR.
Pass a pre-employment computer skills assessment.
Attend a two week in-person paid orientation.
Job Specific Requirements:
Administer, manage, and track Employee Accidents and Leaves of Absence processes.
Provide Employee Accidents and Safety training to team members and supervisors.
Working with Health Care Providers and team members on modified duty job offers and assignments.
Maintain OSHA records.
Being an active member of the Safety Committee.
Delegated supervision of the team members on light duty.
Working with SAIF on wage subsidies, safe working practices, etc.
Keeping team members and supervisors aware of the status
Maintaining accurate records of claims and protected leaves in Oregon
COVID tracking and follow-up for team members who test positive.
Assist with payroll as needed.
Adherence to PCL’s Mission and Values, Ethical Guidelines, Playbook Attributes, and Standards of Conduct.
Knowledge of state and federal Worker’s Compensation and Protected Leave laws and regulations.
