Partners in Development Foundation will be offering a recruitment bonus of up to $1000*. (*Must meet eligibility requirements.)

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for the supervision of employees and overseeing program operations at designated site(s).

Essential Duties:

Manage assigned employees

  • Supervise, mentor, train, and counsel assigned employees in their areas of assignment and ensure their compliance with policies and procedures;
  • Assure that employees carry out their job responsibilities efficiently and work as productive members of a team to implement a quality program;
  • Oversee and maintain timekeeping, attendance tracking, injury reports, and appraisals for all assigned employees, and create weekly schedule.

Oversee aspects of program sites

  • Facility: Communicate with facility managers and landlord;
  • Vehicles: Maintain upkeep of program’s vehicles which include cleaning, safety checks, registration, and repairs;
  • Equipment: Maintain inventory, upkeep, service, and repairs.

Ensure a quality program aligns with program objectives

  • Adopt a hands-on approach while at site: interact with the program participants, engage the keiki, model appropriate teamwork for the team;
  • Assist in the implementation of the program designed curriculum for participants;
  • Coordinate and organize events, field trips, and special projects for site;
  • Schedule and conduct regularly scheduled site meetings, document observations, and provide feedback;
  • Assist with purchasing supplies for site;
  • Develop and maintain professional and positive relationships and on-going communication with community partners, vendors, and organizations;
  • Work with the Project Data Coordinator to gather data from employees and submit reports;
  • Assist PD with compliance and monitoring of all grant and foundation goals and objectives.

Other Duties:

Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, completing all forms and documentations such as reports related to grant objectives, professional development evaluations, and daily logs.

Work Hours:

  • 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or as otherwise determined by the supervisor;
  • Position requires regular and predictable attendance;
  • Some events and professional development on nights or weekends at various times depending on the event or training.

Working Conditions:

  • Program sites at either shelter or designated area homeless encampments, various event sites, meeting and professional development sites;
  • Office setting;
  • Travel in program and/or personal vehicle to and from program sites;
  • Travel to the neighbor islands and the continental U.S. may be required.

Equipment Use:

May include use of: vehicles (company and personal), electronics, and tools and equipment (used for site, prepping, office, facility, vehicle maintenance).

Mental, Physical and Communication Demands:

Mental:

  • Must be keenly aware of and attentive to program participants;
  • Must analyze and problem solve issues;
  • Must be able to prioritize and focus on multiple tasks that require analysis and attention to detail;
  • Must possess and exercise strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Must be able to cope with stress that may be induced by the situations of our clients;
  • Actively demonstrate a commitment to support equity and inclusion, and serve as an advocate for colleagues, partners, and communities;
  • Ensure work is thoughtfully completed, accurate, and error-free to the highest degree possible.

Physical:

  • Must participate in strenuous activities which may include loading/unloading of vans and washing of the vans, mats and tarps; set up and break down of tents;
  • Requires lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds on a regular basis;
  • Must be able to sit and work on floor; kneel and bend.

Communication:

  • Must exhibit courteous and professional demeanor towards program participants, vendors and partners, staff and administration via verbal, written, physical, and electronic correspondence;
  • Requires good oral and written communication skills;
  • Must be able to handle and maintain highly confidential information.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Resources, Social Work, Business Administration, or related field;
  • Experience:

o At least two (2) years experience in a supervisory role;

o At least one (1) year experience working with children and families in a teaching and/or mentoring capacity;

o At least one (1) year experience working with families of Ka Pa‘alana’s target population;

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including but not limited to Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint;
  • Driving: Must have access to a vehicle, have a valid driver's license, a safe and responsible driving record, and current no-fault auto insurance, with at least $100k in bodily collision per person and $25k in property damage liability (operating personal vehicle for work purposes).

Preferred:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field;
  • Experience:

o At least two (2) years experience working with young children ages birth through five (5);

o At least two (2) years experience working with families of Ka Pa‘alana’s host culture.
