Title: Lecturer (Kinesiology and Exercise Science) Position Number: Pending

Hiring Unit: College of Natural and Health Sciences/Department of Kinesiology and Exercise Science

Temporary/Permanent: Temporary 

Other Conditions: For placement in lecturer pool beginning Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025. Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funding. Must be available to teach courses during the day, evening, weekend, and/or via distance learning, as needed. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Conduct lectures and labs in the kinesiology and exercise science program, that includes practicals and physical activities.
  2. Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master’s degree or equivalent in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university (degree fully completed at time of application) or any combination of education/training/experience that equates to this credential for purposes of providing instruction in Kinesiology and Exercise Science.
  2. Potential or demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in areas such as various physical activity courses, injury prevention, exercise physiology, motor control, strength and conditioning, etc. 

Desirable Qualifications

  1. PhD in kinesiology, exercise science or related field.
  2. Experience teaching kinesiology or exercise science courses at the undergraduate level.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Expertise in the physical activity course that is going to be taught (if applicable)
