As a successful Account Executive for our global clients and brokers team, you make sure that PartnerRe positions itself in an optimal way. You articulate the value of our solutions in the client’s world and you evolve our commercial culture with our broking partners. Our solutions are convincing due to your superior understanding of the client’s business, strategy, underwriting approach and the related exposures. You make sure we move quicker than our competitors, engage earlier, deliver more insight, and create real impact for our clients and brokers.

You make best use of our table stakes and create a maximum overlap between clients’ expectations and PartnerRe’s interests. As a consequence we are a stable partner for our clients on their journey to success.

About the role:

  • Active portfolio management to optimise return for PartnerRe while maintaining the appropriate presence for our clients
  • Coordinate and lead complex client/deal teams across multiple locations
  • Lead the negotiations and execution of complex deals
  • Build the political power base within a client and broker organisation to influence decisions in our interest
  • Compile competitive intelligence with major brokers and derive implications and strategies for reinsurance business units
  • Initiate analyses on clients’ financial situation, evaluate their strategy and understand their buying motivation
  • Derive hypotheses for business development by connecting the dots
  • Develop convincing sales strategies and client stories
  • Preparation and delivery of high quality pitches towards clients/ brokers

Qualifications

About you:

  • Superior Reinsurance knowledge and familiarity with structured products
  • Well developed leadership qualities to motivate a team, set clear goals and lead across multiple levels of our organization.
  • Demonstrated ability in communicating effectively to cross functional stakeholders at varying levels of hierarchy with a strong business sense
  • Promotor of change by establishing new ways of thinking in working with clients

  • Engaging personality who wins not only due to excellent analytical capabilities, but as well by understanding the needs of others and deliver against those solutions that create buy in
  • Willingness and ability to work against tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and a collaborative attitude; flexible and adaptive team player
  • Superior negotiation skills with a high level of creativity to articulate the value of our solutions in the client’s world
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required, other languages a plus

Education / Further Requirements:

  • University degree in economics, business administration, mathematic, law or other discipline with equivalent practical experience in the financial industry (MBA, MSc., Federal Diploma)
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience as a (Re)insurance underwriter, Client/Account Manager, Consultant or Broker
  • Experience working with Global insurance clients a plus
