Parsons is now hiring Associate Inspectors with a great attention to detail to join a rapidly growing team, which will enhance the fabric of our community. We need our Inspectors to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team oriented environments that have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills. In this role you will: perform well defined and sometimes difficult inspection tasks, including monitoring quality control procedures. You will inspect various facets of work on the construction site and perform continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Our inspectors document nonconformance and may participate in discussions to determine appropriate resolution. Inspection activities are usually concentrated in one of the following areas: structural, interior finishes, roofing, mechanical, or electrical. Must be local to the Washington DC area. Responsibilities: Inspects commercial construction installations to ensure adherence to statutory and customer regulations. Performs continuing inspection all items installed by the general contractor. Provides general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship. Verifies equipment alignment and balancing operations. May participate in the development of job safety practices and in the preparation of safety reports. May participate in the development of quality control reports and procedures. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Qualifications: Associate's degree in a technical discipline or construction related field and 10 years of related experience on commercial, historical, or industrial construction projects. A high school diploma and equivalent additional work experience will be considered. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be familiar with construction processes related to area of assignment. *** Relocation assistance and per diem are not available for this position.
