Medical Assistant with OBGYN experience needed for Atlanta practice.

The Medical Assistant will handle both clinical and administrative duties to support efficient and safe clinic operations and encourage a positive patient experience. The Medical Assistant will support patient care by taking patient vitals, documenting medical histories, and maintaining accurate medical records. Must have prior OBGYN experience!

Responsibilities:

• Greet and escort patients to exam room
• Gather patient history
• Take and record vital signs
• Document all information in patient medical record.
• Prepare patient for examination
• Provide excellent customer service and communication to patients, families and other care providers
• Provide assistance to physician and/or advanced practice provider in preparing and conducting medical exams and office Procedures under direct guidance and supervision of physician and advance practice provider
• Perform applicable medical procedures collect, and prepare laboratory specimens, administer injections/immunizations, and perform venipuncture, as allowed by state regulations
• Communicate information and instructions to patients as directed by physician, advanced practice provider, or nursing staff and ensure patient’s understanding of the information
• Assist with scheduling of tests, treatments, and follow-up appointments, and communicate teste results to patients
• Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required
• Respond to calls and requests for referrals and appointments
• Triage and process messages, and requests from patients, clinic staff, referring physicians and pharmacies
• Maintain patient files, records, and other information
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience working in an OBGYN office
• Prior administrative experience
• CPR certification required
• Compliance focused and knowledgeable of OSHA standards and HIPAA regulations
