Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Infusion Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting pharmacists in providing quality patient care and ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications. This position is based in our LTC Pharmacy and requires a minimum of three years in the long term care pharmacy setting. Must be a registered Pharmacy Technician licensed in the state of FL. If you are not certified in Infusion, we will help you to become certified.
Duties:
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients
- Perform medication inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and restocking medications
- Maintain accurate patient records and prescription information
- Prepare sterile products using aseptic technique
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing their medication-related inquiries and concerns
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate medication therapy management
- Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and maintain compliance with pharmacy policies and procedures
- Assist in the maintenance of pharmacy equipment and supplies
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmacy practices
- Knowledge of medication administration techniques and dosage calculations
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems for prescription processing
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate patient care
