As a Program Manager, you will be working with members of Finance, Business Development, and the Contracts department. When working with your team, you will be responsible for program control functions, including planning, tracking, analysis and reporting across the program life cycle. This position will prepare the program review presentations, produce financial deliverables for both internal and external use, oversee the creation and delivery of monthly reports to the customer, and participate in the proposal process. 
In addition to that, a typical day-in-the-life of a Parallax Program Manager includes:
  • Ensuring the timely completion of all program management deliverables, including project plans and research schedules, intelligence reports, progress reports, software lifecycle development deliverables, etc.
  • Scoping the work to be done in phases or Agile sprints; developing Agile-based project plans for program tasks, coordinating Agile teams, and managing research project timelines to ensure research deliverables are completed within the specified timeline.
  • Managing multiple programs across various government agencies.
  • Working with customers to determine individual project specifics, including funding, requirements, manpower, deliverables, etc.
  • Proactive leadership and supervision of staff and relationship management with subcontractors, when applicable.
  • Working with the whole team to assist with definition of tasks and anticipated level of effort.
  • Removing impediments blocking team progress.
  • Fostering self-organization of the team and coaching team members.
  • Continuously improving processes and team effectiveness.
Ideally, you are looking for your next long-term challenge and have these skill?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business/Public Administration or a related discipline.
  • 10 years of project management, financial administration or equivalent experience supporting a DoD contract.
  • Working knowledge of the project management field with the ability to complete difficult assignments.
  • Strong analytical ability. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple task/projects while working independently. 
  • Ability to analyze problems for root cause and implement corrective action.
  • Candidates should possess a solid understanding of revenue recognition, EAC development, and related project accounting principles.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills are also required to work well with all levels of staff and managers.
  • Detail oriented with strong math and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to work issues independently.
  • Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Requires word processing, electronic spreadsheet, and Project Management software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) knowledge.
  • Possess strong excel workbook skills and experience with scheduling tools.
  • Ability to comprehensively grasp big picture expectations within everyday activities is essential.
  • Able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
Furthermore, do you have, or want to develop these skills?
  • Enterprise-wide, web-based project management and workflow tools experience.
  • Task order and ROM pricing development experience. 
  • Working experience with Microsoft Project, Deltek or equivalent, VersionOne, or other program management tools. 
  • Proven experience with Grant or Proposal writing.
