As a Data Scientist, you will be working with other software developers and researchers, program managers, the VP & Division Manager Intelligent Systems, and Parallax clients. When working with your team, you will provide analytic support and documentation of study findings for publications.
In addition to that, a typical day-in-the-life of a Parallax Data Scientist includes:
  • Acting as a consultant to government researchers to help shape experiments for maximum effectiveness. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to work closely with government researchers and technical teams at all time
  • Developing scenarios and data integration
  • Supporting analysis and documentation of study findings for publications and technical reports
  • Presenting findings at technical exchanges and conferences
  • Supporting government researchers with IRB reviews or approvals 
  • Work with senior engineers and government stakeholders to develop implementation and transition plans to move promising findings into 6.3 programs
Ideally, you are looking for your next long-term challenge and have these skills:
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • 5 or more years of experience in DoD Research and Development experience
  • Master's in Statistics/Data Science
  • Experience with statistical data analysis and visualizations using tools JMPS, R, and/or Python
  • Training and evaluating traditional statistical and machine learning models using industry-standard tools R and Python
  • Design of Experiments (DOE) for research studies to support actionable results
  • Developing models to test in lab environments to support human/machine teaming experimentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort in discussing a wide variety of technology spaces
Furthermore, do you have, or want to develop these skills?
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices
