Paragon Property Management is Hiring an Accounting Manager Near Chicago, IL

- Accounting Manager
- Mission
- Lead the company in managing accurate financial and business records
- Key Outcomes / Targets
- Establish and document in detail the bookkeeping. Improve on the existing process, find ways to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Establish mastery of using Buildium property management software and accounting and bookkeeping best practices for the property management and real estate industries.
- Establish a robust accounting and bookkeeping process that ensures accurate records
- Establish process to use bookkeeping and financial records to provide useful metrics for the operations team to use in optimizing business operations
- Hire, train, develop, and coach the bookkeeping team
- Work closely with property management operations team to ensure they are fully supported with accurate records for our customers, both owner clients and tenants.
- Other Regular Responsibilities
- Manage issuing of IRS 1099 forms to contractors on annual basis
- Review monthly property operating statements
- Gather and organize inputs for US-based CPA firm to use in preparation for IRS tax filings
- Work with operations team in resolving bookkeeping issues if any arise.
- Job Requirements
- Well established and organized home office setup without outside noise or distraction
- Reliable power and internet required. Backup systems required.
- Working hours are 8:30am to 5pm CST with 30 minute lunch break.
- Full-time, minimum 40 hrs per week
- Be fully focused during work hours, do not work on other jobs, freelance work, or personal items
- Must be detail oriented and have good organization skills
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be good at problem solving. Investigate and research as needed to solve problems encountered
- If errors are made candidate must be able to take full accountability, determine root cause, identify what to improve in process to be more successful in the future.
- Experience
- Property management bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Experience with property accounting software such as Buildium is preferred.
- Pay Rate
- Pay is negotiable based on candidate experience and qualifications
