Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Configuration Manager with a deep understanding of Navy shipbuilding and defense systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing configuration management (CM) processes at both the ship platform and systems levels. Familiarity with the Navy's shipbuilding configuration management process is essential, as well as expertise in managing CM within the Siemens Teamcenter environment. The Configuration Manager will be responsible for maintaining and controlling all hardware inventory, documentation, product releases, and software configuration management. Additionally, the individual will collaborate closely with the Configuration Control Board to define and implement procedures for releasing new products throughout their entire life cycle. Providing change management and product configuration management guidance will also be key responsibilities of this role.
Responsibilities: - Oversee configuration management issues associated with maintaining and controlling hardware inventory, documentation, product releases, and software configuration management.
- Manage configuration management processes at both ship platform and systems levels.
- Collaborate closely with the Configuration Control Board to define and implement procedures for releasing new products throughout their entire life cycle.
- Provide change management and product configuration management guidance.
- Ensure compliance with Navy's shipbuilding configuration management process.
- Utilize expertise in managing CM within the Siemens Teamcenter environment.
- Develop and implement strategies for effective configuration management throughout the organization.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with configuration management processes.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of configuration management activities with project objectives.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in configuration management.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in Navy shipbuilding and defense systems.
- Expertise in managing configuration management processes at both ship platform and systems levels.
- Familiarity with the Navy's shipbuilding configuration management process.
- Experience with CM within the Siemens Teamcenter environment.
- Strong understanding of change management principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
