GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Accounting department, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit and control, and asset / liability reconciliation. Plan, direct, and manage the provision of accurate, timely and objective financial data from which informed management decisions can be made. Recommend action when and where necessary, including establishing SOP’s.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • High command of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications as well as Delphi, EZSuite, Sage, Ceridian Dayforce and Agilysys
  • Four (4) to six (6) years financial and management experience in an upscale hospitality resort environment, including a Condo-Hotel with a HOA
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Direct preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Support management with resort financial goals by direct preparation of monthly and annual reports. 
  • Monitors accounts receivable, ensures that bills are mailed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure all banks are balanced and accounted for.
  • Ensure compliance with Paloma Legacy policies and procedures and all applicable laws.
  • Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure the collection and remittance of applicable local, state and federal taxes. 
  • Review bi-weekly payroll processing
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial statement preparation – currently 4 companies
  • Oversee and backup support as needed for all IT needs
  • Provide support to HR manager as needed
  • Ensure all current federal and local regulations are followed
  • Ensure proper controls in place for company from accounting to F&B to hotel operations
  • Manage capital projects – track expenditures, submit bank funding draws
  • Complete all external company audits, including financial, 401K, insurance
  • Coordinate all software conversions – vet software through demonstrations, arrange conversion including data transfer & accounting setup / structure, and anything necessary to ensure accurate and smooth transition
  • Prepare / maintain ongoing federal and state tax projections
  • Work with ownership on any legal issues as they arise
  • Manage accounting team and ensure all day-to-day task are completed timely and accurate
  • Prepare historical analytics as required or requested for banks
  • Assist / advise ownership with any financial request
  • Practice safe work habits in completion of job duties
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of the time performing each function to be solely determined by the director based upon departmental and hotel needs.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability for up to 8-10 hours in length.
  • Must be able to have good communication skills to be able to interact with customers and other departments.
  • Must be able to work in limited space must be able to lift up to 15 lbs, occasionally.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
  • Ability to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen and typing on a keyboard
  • Extended use of vision with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, fax machines, photocopiers, and other office equipment as needed.
