Summary
To ensure that team members receive services from Palmetto Goodwill, strategic partners, and other community resources consistent with the mission, identified outcomes, and the team member’s individualized plan that outlines a move toward retention of employment, career growth, financial wellness, and the ability to thrive.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate Palmetto Goodwill’s Amazing Customer Experience (ACE) Culture, I-CARE Values, Mission, and Vision in all actions.
  • Assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate actions required to meet the team member's goals to achieve prosperity.
  • Effectively develop a positive empowering relationship with all team members through coaching, motivating, and educating.
  • Actively promote Palmetto Goodwill and community programs to create awareness and demonstrate the potential programs have for career and life advancement.
  • Meeting team members where they are, understanding background, education, and training, to help them develop realistic goals.
  • Guide team members through making decisions about their careers, such as choosing a new profession, career pathing within Palmetto Goodwill, and the type of credentials or degree to pursue.
  • Fluent in local community resources and programs and provides necessary referrals to programs that foster the continued growth of the team member.
  • Maintain working knowledge of educational and training opportunities located internally and externally in the community.
  • Document team member contact, activity, and progress through case notes in electronic case (success) management systems and maintain confidentiality.
  • Coordinate with team members and pre-schedule meetings.
  • Refer team members to outside sources or additional training services or social aids.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Multi-task several assignments at once and prioritize effectively.
  • Professionally and confidentially assist individuals with diverse types of lifestyles, genders, personal beliefs, and disabilities.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications

  • Superior customer service skills, the ability to handle competing priorities effectively, the ability to provide positive reinforcement to a wide variety of customers with varying skill levels, and creativity.
  • Can read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Can solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Can write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Demonstrates effective public speaking skills.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Can multi-task effectively, and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events; be flexible and/or adaptable as work requirements change.
  • Can meet deadlines and work autonomously.
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
  • Works effectively in a team-based environment.
Must have:
  • Proficient writing skills, with a focus on correct style, grammar, and content.
  • Strong time management skills and project management skills, focusing on handling multiple participants' needs simultaneously.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and presentation skills.
  • A valid driver's license and automobile insurance acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance carrier.
Preferred:
  • Understanding of job markets, essential skillsets for various jobs, employer needs, and team member training and development.
Education and Experience
HD or GED required and two (2) years of relevant experience or equivalent experience, including certifications or tenure.
Physical Demands
While performing these job duties, the team member is regularly required to: talk and/or hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
Normal working conditions as found within an office setting, wherein there is controlled temperature and a low noise level, plus a minimum of distractions.
