Paideia Classical Christian School is Hiring a Director of Development Near Tampa, FL

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director of Development is responsible for leading the school’s development efforts, including the planning, oversight, and execution of all aspects of fundraising, event planning, external relationships, and donor partnerships. In addition, the Director of Development will pursue grants, work directly with development committee, and oversee alumni and grandparent engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

DEVELOPMENT

  • Establish and support a culture of giving within the school community
  • Develop and maintain relationships with donors, alumni, and grandparents
  • Educate and engage key volunteers in implementing mission-based fundraising
  • Manage the development budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to financial goals and guidelines
  • Identify grant opportunities, write compelling grant proposals, and manage grant reporting requirements to secure and maintain external funding sources
  • Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to evaluate fundraising effectiveness, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize fundraising strategies
  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop messaging, campaigns, and materials that effectively communicate Paideia’s mission and impact to donors and the public.

CONSTITUENT RELATIONS

  • Recruit, train, and encourage Paideia volunteers
  • Coordinate ongoing Paideia Ministerium opportunities
  • Attend important school events to maintain rapport with constituents
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with local churches
  • Lead the cultivation of a culture of giving with newly enrolled families each year
  • Plans activities for school events that foster community and strengthen relationships
  • Cultivates and stewards relationships with donors, prospects, and alumni to enhance engagement and secure philanthropic support
  • Identify, recruit, and engage volunteers including: prospects, parents, alumni, grandparents, students, faculty, and staff
  • Work with the Head of School to identify and cultivate relationships with key families in the community.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to build relationships that can lead to financial support, particularly in the sensitive area of dealing with friends and family of the school
  • Prioritizes personal relationship with Christ, a strong devotional life, and openness to the work and guidance of the Holy Spirit
  • Understands and actively promotes the mission and vision of Paideia as a distinctly Christian classical school
  • Works to establish strong ties with fellow administrators, faculty, families, students, and alumni by actively seeking ways to participate in the community
  • Desire to build a small and highly motivated volunteer team who can help meet the financial vision of the school

GENERAL TEAMWORK

  • Pray for the students, faculty, staff, families, and leadership of the school
  • Assist the Head of School and administrative team with tasks as needed and directed to help serve families, faculty, and staff with excellence
  • Contribute to the refinement of the classical and Christian vision, traditions, structures, and policies of Paideia

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, salary year-round position of 40 hours per week. In general, the workday is 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., five days a week. During the summer months, the workday may be reduced to 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. However, as an exempt employee, the employee is expected to work beyond the workday to perform duties outlined in the job description and as assigned. There is a mandatory administrator’s meeting once a week and a daily gathering in the morning before school begins (Scholé).
