Paddock View Residential Center is Hiring a Bookkeeper Near Marion, IN

Position Summary: The bookkeeping position will be responsible for recording financial transaction through the use of QuickBooks software. He/she will have knowledge of basic accounting principles and will be responsible for accounts payable/accounts receivable tracking and recording. Reconciliation of financial records and statements according to the demands of contracts.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience working in accounts payable and receivable and general ledger.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and QuickBooks.
  • Must pass all background checks required by DCS.
  • Must be competent in reading and writing English.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid state id.
  • Experience working in residential setting a plus.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Balance and maintain accurate ledgers.
  • Coordinate bank deposits and report financial results on a regular basis to Executive Director.
  • Reconcile credit card statements with receipts.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
  • Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit.
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy.
  • Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Knowledge of: basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles, proficiency in MS Office, including the ability to operate computerized accounting and spreadsheet programs
  • Skill in: oral and written communications; bookkeeping, excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Ability to: Calculate post and manage accounting figures and financial records, read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos, effectively present information to the Executive Director.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift, sit, stand, bend, or stoop for long periods of time. Must possess the sensory capacities to efficiently and successfully execute essential job functions.
