Pacific University is Hiring a NWS - Line Server, A.M./P.M. Near Forest, OR

SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this job position is to be responsible for the final preparation of all food items served in the HealthCare Center food service area in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the kitchen supervisor, relief manager or Team Leader to assure that quality service is provided at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Completes food temperature checks. Serves correct portion and diet to each resident. Maintains appropriate HealthCare Center meal counts and tallies.
Cleans work area and equipment used in food preparation and service.
Follows all safety and sanitation procedures. Delivers food items to and from main kitchen.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Promotes clean, safe and neat environment for residents, self and staff.
Demonstrates knowledge of fire safety procedures, and assists with evacuation of residents to a safe location in the event of fire or other emergency.
Maintains confidentiality of residents’ personal and medical record information.
Cooperates with staff of other departments in performing job duties.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be a minimum of sixteen (16) years of age. Ability to see and hear or to use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that position requirements can be fully met. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Good communications skills; sound mental and physical health; ability to get along well with others; to demonstrate flexibility and patience; to work as a member of a team; to demonstrate a high level of sensitivity and interest in people, especially older adults.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of High School preferred. Prior experience not required.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Subject to moderate physical and emotional stress associated with food service. Works in food preparation area of healthcare center food service area.
