Job Location
Work with a Spanish faculty member and one other student to create and run a weekly cultural night and a weekly conversation table to support student learning in the Spanish program at Pacific. Student should have an advanced level of Spanish and experience with and/or an interest in organizing activities related to Spanish speaking cultures.. Student also should have strong leadership skills.
Number of work study hours/week: 6-7 hours
Pay rate: $15.95/hour
Number of work study positions available: 2
Specifics: Student would be responsible for the following:
Activity
Average time commitment
Working with fellow work study assistant to prepare the two events per week
2 hours/week
Attending the cultural nights with fellow work study student
(day/time TBA, according to work study students’ schedules)
Cultural night: 2 hours/week
Attending the conversation table every other week (work study students will take turns leading each week)
Conversation table: 1 hour/every other week
Coordinating with the Spanish program supervisor to design and promote the events
1-2 hours/week
Note: These cultural events would not take place during the first two weeks of the fall semester in order to give the work study students and their faculty supervisor time to develop the events.
