Pacific Landscape Management is Hiring an Irrigation Tech Near Hillsboro, OR

This is a test req.

All responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following.

  • Prioritize and organize daily activity to address reported irrigation problems
  • Inspect irrigation systems and related landscape conditions to diagnose any problems with the system
  • Properly repair any problems within a reasonable time, using the best repair method, common repair practice and quality materials to achieve a quality repair for our customers
  • Purchasing materials and renting equipment for specific repairs
  • Irrigation installation, includes clock programming to ensure proper watering of new plant material
  • Operation of diagnostic equipment such as wire tracers, toners, and volt-ohm meters
  • Train and evaluate the effectiveness of seasonal inspection personnel
  • Fill out daily paperwork timely and accurately
  • Supervise completion of accurate paperwork and coding of receipts
  • Operate equipment, such as: Dingo and all its attachments (forks, trencher, tiller, bucket, and grade rake), mini-excavator, tractor, wood-chipper, chainsaw, pneumatic drill, rotary hammer, plate compactor, aerator, pressure washer, cut-off saw, trash pump, hard edger, weed eater, blower, power shears, etc.
  • Assure proper use, care and inventory of company vehicle, equipment and tools assigned
  • Perform minor in-the-field maintenance and repairs of equipment
  • Report equipment in need of repair to shop mechanic
  • Supervise safe loading and unloading of equipment
  • Evaluate crews’ performance on a consistent basis and keep supervisor or manager informed of status
  • Develop and maintain a positive work relationship with Branch Managers, peers, and other team members
  • Facilitate conflict resolution between crew members
  • Perform accident reports and investigations and take corrective actions to the best of your ability to prevent future accidents
  • Provide communication to clients directly or through Branch Manager to ensure expectations are being met

Qualifications:

Work Experience:

Required:

  • Three to Five years of commercial landscape irrigation installation, repair, and or construction
  • Proficiency with electrical diagnosis equipment used with low-voltage wiring
  • Working knowledge of irrigation hydraulics and irrigation principles


Desired:

  • Design knowledge

Education & Formal Training:

Required:

  • Valid Driver License with approved driving record
  • Ability to correctly communicate in English, orally and in writing by successfully passing PLM English proficiency test

Desired:

  • Bachelor or Associate degree in Horticulture
  • Bilingual skills – English / Spanish
  • Certified Landscape Technician with Irrigation endorsement
  • Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor


Working Conditions:

  • This position requires the employee to work outdoors under varied weather conditions. Including hot and cold temperatures, rain, and snow
  • Work occasionally must be performed on uneven steep terrain
  • Work schedule may vary due to season


Physical Requirements:

  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for up to ten hours per day
  • The employee must regularly lift, carry, push, and pull from 10 to 100 pounds, depending on the situation
  • Employee must pass DOT physical exam, drug screen, and criminal background check at hire
