Project Accountant – Full-Time & In-Office – Snohomish, WA

Are you Fearless in Asking Questions, Very Inquisitive, and have a great Sense of Humor?! Pacific Landscape Management is looking for a Project Accountant for project-specific analysis in the landscape/construction industry. This position reports to the CFO while working directly with all areas of the company and will be first point of all inquiries about project profitability from the project managers, owners, and the controller which requires a go-getter attitude. Tasks include but are not limited to helping project managers with project tracking files, assisting with month-end customer invoicing, monthly closing process, reconciling QuickBooks projects to our online workflow management system (Aspire).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for project profitability inquiries.
  • Perform profitability analysis on projects and service contracts.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries in QuickBooks.
  • Manage month-end customer billing process and work with department managers to ensure all work performed is invoiced.
  • Run reports, gather data and prepare information and emails as needed.
  • Accurately complete timely job costing and receipt management in Aspire and reconcile to QuickBooks.
  • Manage month-end journal entries to general ledger.
  • Ensure financial data integrity within our online work flow management system (Aspire).
  • Support the implementation of Aspire to additional departments and areas of the company.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Actively assist with a variety of finance and administrative functions.
  • This is an in-office role 5 days a week.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum AA degree in accounting/finance or substitute relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
  • Three years’ experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role or similar job responsibilities in a dynamic and diverse work environment.
  • QuickBooks experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Aspire software preferred.
  • Experience with project accounting in a construction environment a plus.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Demonstrated professionalism in both external and internal communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills and tech savy office technology including database management software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Skilled self-starter with the ability to work independently on multiple tasks while managing changing priorities.
  • Basic Math Skills Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Percentages etc.
