Job Description
CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) will assist physicians and other medical support staff with patient care. CMA will enter required information into EMR system to ensure quality of care.
- HIPAA and OSHA knowledge and compliance
- Certified Medical Assistant Certification required
- Medical office experience preferred
- Must be professional and courteous
- Podiatry terminology knowledge preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Knowledge of EMR/ Computer skills
- Greet Patients promptly and courteously
- Perform duties under the supervision and direction of the Physician
- Assist Physician in exam rooms
- Provide patient instruction as directed by Physician
- Triage patients
- Complete patient paperwork and encounter into the EMR at time of encounter
- Add vitals to Medical Record
- Ensure appropriate tools and trays are prepared for Physician
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and clean rooms
- Stock exam rooms
- Create/Transfer orders – ex: Imaging and Physical Therapy orders
- Begin and complete patient encounters in all areas except billing
Assigned hours are Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm
The CMA is required to stand and walk. The CMA may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
