Oxford Solutions is Hiring a Rail equipment manager Near Honolulu, HI

Relocation package available for the right candidate.

Must have rail industry background and experience leading train maintenance activities.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee maintenance activities for rolling stock (trains) and MSF equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules to ensure the availability and reliability of trains for service requirements.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and component replacements, to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Manage and optimize inventory levels of spare parts and equipment to support maintenance operations and minimize costs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, engineering, and procurement teams, to address maintenance-related issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to train reliability, maintenance costs, and equipment availability, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements, including FRA (Federal Railroad Administration) regulations.
  • Lead and mentor maintenance staff, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Stay current with developments in rolling stock technology, maintenance best practices, and industry trends to inform decision-making and drive innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the rail industry, with a focus on train maintenance and management.
  • Strong knowledge of rolling stock systems, components, and maintenance practices.
  • Experience leading train maintenance activities, including preventive and corrective maintenance planning and execution.
  • Familiarity with MSF equipment and associated maintenance requirements is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify root causes of maintenance issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and compliance requirements, including FRA regulations.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of maintenance professionals to achieve performance goals and objectives.
