Job Summary:
Reporting to the VP Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role within our accounting department, contributing to accurate financial reporting and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong grasp of accounting principles (GAAP) and a knack for analytical thinking.
•Collaborate in the month-end financial close process, encompassing the preparation of journal entries, bank reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
•Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting entries and financial data.
•Prepare and file local compliance documents such as multi-state business property tax, sales & use tax filings, business licenses, and 1099s.
•Work closely with department heads to address their needs and facilitate growth initiatives.
•Support technical accounting research and assist in documenting new policies and procedures.
•Contribute to designing and implementing internal controls and policies to ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
•Assist with financial and tax audits, liaising with external auditors to provide timely support and explanations.
•Provide necessary data and collaborate with external tax preparers for the completion of annual and quarterly federal and state taxreturns.
•Engage in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance department.
•Conduct research on data, entries, payments, and audit routines.
•Analyze expenditures, providing financial justifications for spending as required.
•Maintain compliance with company, state, and federal accounting practices, laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines.
•Undertake other duties as required to support the smooth functioning of the accounting department.

Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
•Understanding and application of GAAP principles.
•Previous exposure to cost accounting is a plus.
•Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and V-Lookups.
•Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
