Position: Inside Sales Assistant

Job Description:

The Inside Sales Assistant is an on-site, entry level, part-time position to learn about sales engineering, prospecting, and relationship building at a large engineering firm.

The Inside Sales Assistant is responsible for gathering data, connecting and messaging companies that we have identified as target companies, and cold-calling target companies to schedule a follow-up phone call or in-person meeting with one of our technical experts.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

• Data Gathering – Employee will be provided with a list of companies that we have identified as target companies. Employee is to research the target roles and record the names of key people for us to contact. Roles we are targeting include: Plant Manager, Controls Manager, Controls Employees, etc. A priority list for roles will be provided. Employee will also be responsible for finding the phone numbers (from the company website) and documenting these numbers. This effort leads into our cold call (phone call) efforts.
• Connects and Messaging – Employee will be provided with a list of companies that we have identified as target companies. Employee will be responsible for finding about 3 people at each company to connect and send an introduction message to.
• Cold Calling and Scheduling – Employee will be provided with a list of companies, key people and their role, and phone numbers to call. Employee will be responsible for calling the operator and asking to speak with one of the key people (or similar role). Employee will be provided with a script to help them with what to say. Employee will be responsible for either leaving a voicemail, or, speaking with the person with the intent to schedule a follow up phone call or in-person meeting with one of our Technical Experts.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Customer service experience is a plus, but not required
• Strong computer skills are a must
• Must have excellent communication skills (both written & verbal) & be able to follow instructions & learn quickly
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks & work independently
• Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Sales experience is a plus, but not required
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of Software Systems Integration is a plus, but not required

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Computer Literacy: MS Office including Excel
