Position Summary:

The Production Manager leads all production teams on the 2nd shift, including Press, Finishing, Bindery, and mailing operations. Develops and maintains process driven workflows that are centered around the pillars of Safety, Quality, and Productivity and the alignment statement of “For the Gospel: World Class Manufacturing & Fulfillment”. Develop, shepherd, and lead the hourly manufacturing employees. 

Essential Functions:

1. Lead and maintain a safety-first culture in all plant operations. 
2. Lead and maintain world class quality production cells, based upon process driven workflows, technology, and tools.
3. Lead, train and develop production employees with a focus on building versatile operators and a “Flow to Work” mindset. 
4. Measure, track, and report on established Safety/Quality/Productivity/On Time KPIs.
5. Facilitate flying shift changes with quality communication with and to all work centers.
6. Interface with Production, Warehouse, and Supply Chain personnel to discuss live and upcoming jobs.
7. Interface with Engineering/Maintenance staff for preventative maintenance, engineering projects, and troubleshooting needs.
8. Perform minor machine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
9. Maintain building security and shut down procedures.
10. Assist in creating and maintaining written SOP documents for production workflows. Train and hold employees accountable to SOPs.
11. Conduct annual performance reviews.

Job Title: Production Manager

Study or Knowledge or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing/Business Management.
• 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Machine operations experience preferred. 
• Leadership experience required.
• Print/Bindery experience preferred.
• Forklift/HILO experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office and Google App suite familiarity.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. 
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.

Internal Work Environment:

Daily interaction and communication with the Print Services leadership team, first shift production team, and direct reports. Topics can be technical and complex. Responsible for the training and development of hourly production employees. Performs annual performance reviews.

External Communication:

Weekly, monthly, quarterly interaction with print & equipment vendors. Topics can be technical and complex.

Leadership Responsibility:

Leadership of 10 hourly production employees. Strong emphasis on development, accountability, and shepherding. 

Stewardship of Resources:

Must maintain proper execution of the manufacturing workflows to avoid costly re-runs and waste.
