 Our Ark seeks a team-oriented individual who demonstrates high attention to detail and has a good understanding of psocial parental support, using the holistic approach, vision values, and morals with our young people in mind while supporting Our Youth with no biases judgement. The attributes of the Executive Director Assistant (EDA) must have compassion kindness, respect, honesty, equality, humor, and courage. The EDA must be open minded, compassionate, understand lived experience, loyal, and open to communication knowledge of their biases demonstrating trustworthiness and caring. The ideal candidate must have worked with a non-profit and an understanding of supporting young people during trying times
Job Details: The executive Director Assistant (EDA) must have an open mind to learn new processes, procedures, and think outside the box. Most importantly the new team leader must have compassion, demonstrating hope and care for Our Ark, team
members, and the youth within Our program. Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
  •  Mentor, coach, and provide service above self to the youth we serve including responsibilities of development, training, quality assurance, and youth voice in programming.
  • Create and/or expand youth programs with no prejudice or judgment in keeping with Our Ark’s mission
  • Develop and implement onboarding and training for staff and volunteers providing ongoing professional development including high-quality service delivery
  • Provides assistance with reporting, fundraising, and overall program development;
  • Provide fundraising support
  • Support participants in their journey supporting in times of need, frustration, stress, anxiety, and communication.
  • Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience leading people
  • Experience working with youth.
Job Summary:
Manages affairs and activities of in accordance with the mission set forth in the mission, values, and vision. 
Focuses on the “operations” of the program which include outreach, Outreach Center and Housing Support and thus, primarily collaborates with young adult development and education, Rapid Rehousing Support, Community and Outreach supports. Concentrates on administrative duties and personnel such as volunteers and sponsors and supporters. This person collaborates primarily with the Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator
General Responsibilities:
  • Operates under the sole guidance of, and reports directly to, the Board Officers 
  • Assists with local fund development activities. 
  • Guide the development and implementation of fundraising plans
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising events
  • Implements and maintains the local program’s operations as set forth adheres to the company’s culture and core values and as directed by the Board Officers.
  • Develop and maintain assistance from sponsors/supporters
  • Assist with responsibility for the “wish list” updates on the program
  • Ensures that the local program operates in accordance with the bylaws, articles of incorporation and mission of Our Ark
  • Build relationships with community agencies that serve homeless youth
  • Works with other social service providers to learn about available service 
  • After approval by the Leadership Team, assist in submissions of the coming year’s local program annual budget and program goals 
  • Identifies the times and places Leadership Team meetings. 
  • Assist with scheduling and conducting the basic and outreach trainings
  • Coordinates and implements regular training session with community agencies…i.e., CPR, First Aid, AA, Planned Parenthood
  • Prepares the agenda for, and presides over, all meetings of the Leadership Team. 
  • Implements the kid, volunteer, and Sponsor recognition program coordination and record-keeping:
Supervises all Leadership Team members to ensure proper performance of duties 
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited college or University with a Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, in youth counseling or a closely related field; 
  • One year of experience with non-profit youth work counseling or street outreach services.
  •  An equivalent combination of training and experience
  •  Financial management experience.
  •  Highly organized.
  •  Project management experience.
  •  Highly ethical behavior.
  •  Effective communicator.
  •  Motivational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial practices.
  • Public relations and marketing knowledge.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

 Our Ark is a community-based nonprofit corporation that works directly with homeless street youth and young adults in extensive street outreach and building trusting relationships through consistency.
Our primary goal is to provide advocacy, education, and peer support through Psychosocial Rehabilitation and a unique path offering consistent nonjudgmental support from staff, peer volunteers, community groups, and other dedicated organizations. 
Our Ark is more than an organization, we are a community on a journey together. Together, we are making great strides in our community by helping street youth create their own paths to success.
We are currently working on expansion plans including increased street outreach services, host home–family interaction, Young Adult Home Support Services, Rapid Rehousing, and street outreach.
The further we reach our youth, the more success our community will have in ending homelessness for future generations
