Otherside Wine Bar is Hiring a Front of House Manager Near Glen Cove, NY

Job Summary

New wine bar in Glen Cove by Southdown Coffee is seeking a full time front of house manager. Slated for an early May 2024 opening, Otherside will feature a seasonal Mediterranean inspired small plates, house made pastas and refined bar food produced paired with sommelier selected wine from around the world. Our NYC-Michelin trained chef is seeking a front of house manager to join our opening crew and grow with us. Management experience is preferred, but strong customer service skills, great organization, the ability to multi-task and a good attitude and the desire to take the next step in your career will be considered. QUALIFICATIONS

As the front of house manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's front of house operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and a seamless dining experience for our guests.

  • Previous experience managing in a restaurant or food service setting (preferred but not required)
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with customers, staff, and vendors
  • Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Must be available for 5 consecutive weekly shifts (flexibility will be available in the future)
  • Ability to stand and move for long periods of time
  • High level of organization, time management skills, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency
  • Good attitude and general reliability
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Level-headed and proficient in a high volume and fast-paced environment
  • Willingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job

GENERAL TASKS

  • Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming and engaging customers throughout their dining experience
  • Manage and supervise all front of house staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and bartenders
  • Train new employees on restaurant policies, procedures, and customer service standards
  • Create employee schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet business demands
  • Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery
  • Monitor dining areas to ensure cleanliness, proper setup, and adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain inventory of front of house supplies, such as menus, condiments, and utensils
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement strategies for improving customer satisfaction and increasing sales
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations for front of house staff and provide constructive feedback for improvement
  • Willingness and ability to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job
  • Have knowledge of all food and wine offerings to answer any guest questions
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of food and wine to guests' tables
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operations

DETAILS

  • 40hr, 5 consecutive day work week
  • 8hr shifts, PM weekdays and weekends required
  • PAY RANGE (based on experience)

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
