Osprey Hospice is Hiring a Weekend Home Health Aide Near Perth Amboy, NJ

Our active hospice organization is expanding quickly and we are eagerly searching for a knowledgeable home health care aide to help us provide outstanding in-home and facility hospice care to our clients. Our ideal candidate will have superb organization skills and communication talents, and a minimum of 1-3 years of experience working as a HHA or caregiver. You will collaborate with our patients to provide companionship, basic health care assistance, light housekeeping, personal grooming, and hygienic services so that they can enjoy a superior quality of life in their own homes. $24 - $26 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Ambulate patients as indicated in the care plan, and help patients complete exercises and physical therapy as needed
  • Support patients to help them complete personal hygiene tasks like bathing, grooming, toileting, shaving, dressing, etc.
  • Reinforce accurate and up-to-date care records and work with the case manager to implement the patient care plan
  • Maintain psychological and emotional support for patients and family members - provide quality companionship
Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are valuable, as is a compassionate, empathetic, and kind personality
  • Current CPR certification and first aid training are needed and you must be able to pass a full employment background check, drug test, and physical
  • Completion of home health aide training programs from community colleges is acceptable - Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) is a plus
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required - some college is an asset
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, you may be required to stoop, bend, reach, and transfer patients up to 250 lbs as needed
