Orthopaedic Specialty Institute is Hiring a Medical Front Office Receptionist Near Irvine, CA

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing administrative tasks. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for welcoming patients, verifying insurance information, collecting payments, and effectively communicating with both patients and office staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients in a warm and friendly manner as they arrive for their appointments.
  • Efficiently check patients in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems or other office software.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, ensuring accurate information is obtained.
  • Collect copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances from patients, and process payments securely.
  • Answer phone calls and emails promptly, addressing patient inquiries and scheduling appointments as needed.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely patient flow and address any scheduling conflicts.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, ensuring a comfortable environment for patients.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents as required.
  • Collaborate with office staff to ensure accurate record-keeping and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting or customer service role preferred.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic office software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is desirable but not required.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
