The FRIENDSTM Experience - The One In NYC is seeking a Department Coordinator to guide the team operating and maintaining the caf. Candidates must be passionate, compassionate, have a commitment to safety, and value fun in everything that they do. Job Summary: The Department Coordinator will be responsible for building, developing, and managing the Food Services Department. The ideal candidate has experience in running an efficient day-to-day caf operation, as well as bringing strategic insight into systems and offerings that lead to successful business results. They must thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to work with a variety of different personalities. They will be the MOD (Manager on Duty) for various shifts and must display leadership abilities while working as part of the team. This position reports to the management team and is required to assist in developing and maintaining the highest quality of safety, service, cleanliness, and efficiency. A high level of Guest Service must be delivered every day. The chosen candidate must lead by example, demonstrating the core values of passion, excellence, safety, and fun on a day-in, day-out basis. The hourly rate for this part-time position is $25.00. Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and sound judgment to the Food Services Department to the benefit of the company
Follow policies, processes, and procedures ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications of caf equipment
Verify completion of daily, weekly, and monthly inspection checklists for the Food Services Department
Oversee inventory levels and re-order as needed to ensure smooth operation
Ensure that costs are controlled and that results are analyzed regularly to highlight problem areas with immediate action taken
Placing weekly orders to maintain food operations
Be part of the MOD (Manager on Duty) rotation
Interview, hire, train, and develop members of the Food Services Department
Develop, manage, and approve line schedules for the Food Services Department
Host regular briefings and communication meetings with caf staff
Interface with Venue Management and third-party managers to achieve strategic goals and objectives
Work with Venue Management, Guest Experience Department Management, and any other appropriate department leads on a regular basis
Regularly evaluate maintenance processes according to organizational objectives and provide feedback
Any and all duties as assigned
Requirements:
Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
Must possess a current and valid Food Handlers Certificate
2 years of leadership experience in a Food and Beverage setting
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a fast-paced team
Ability to safely operate and perform light maintenance of caf equipment
Extremely organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, and adaptable
Ability to effectively interface with the public and handle emergency situations in a calm and authoritative manner
Computer and administration skills, including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel programs
Must be able to remain in standing positions more than 75% of the time
Must be able to freely move about inside the exhibit and caf space
Frequently moves items and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Must be able to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
