Origami Risk is Hiring a VP of Cloud Operations Near Chicago, IL

Overview

As the VP of Cloud Operations you will be responsible for IT and Cloud Operations oversight and strategy for the organization. In this position you will oversee a department responsible for the design, development, and oversight of the organization’s technical infrastructure including hardware, software, servers, storage solutions, and networks for both the organization’s cloud-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) application as well as internal employee resources. Other areas of responsibility include the day-to-day operations of the organization’s computer systems, databases, and other technology.

Responsibilities

  • Develops the organization’s SaaS infrastructure strategy, currently hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Leads IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals including managing a roadmap that will support rapid growth.
  • Collaborates with Sales and Professional Service teams to offer pre-sales support directly to prospective clients.
  • Collaborates with the Information Security, Product and Development teams on short-term projects and the long-term roadmap for the organization’s platform.
  • Develops and guides the organization’s technology strategy to support strong business alignment, improved profitability, and a strong flexible foundation for the future.
  • Prioritizes and coordinates IT initiatives while collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders across the organization, including sales and service professionals.
  • Drives the evaluation, deployment and maintenance of enterprise system architecture and makes decisions on current and future IT systems and hosting environments.
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations on staffing, outsourcing, purchasing and internal development of systems and processes.
  • Facilitates strategic alliances with technology partners.
  • Analyzes current business practices, processes and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging data hosting, storage, and retrieval system capabilities.
  • Aligns IT risk management with enterprise risk management.
  • Understands the complexities involved in process change and implementing new technology and its effect on colleagues and clients.
  • Sources vendors and negotiates the business terms of vendor agreements.
  • Builds and leads a talented and flexible systems organization that has a high sense of urgency, is customer-oriented, and is extremely responsive.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technology-related field
  • 10 years of experience leading IT in a high growth environment and at scale
  • Intimate knowledge of tech stacks of cloud applications
  • Extensive hands-on experience with the design, development, and implementation of IT systems
  • In depth familiarity with SQL Server
  • Knowledge and experience in asp.net and C# development
  • Extensive in depth knowledge with AWS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting, financial planning, and business operations
