Job Type Full-time, Part-time Description

SCRIBE POSITION OVERVIEW :

Responsible for assisting physicians with basic patient care and providing unparralled customer service to patients while adhering to established protocols, processes and volume without ever compromising quality.

SCRIBE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Prepares and assembles medical record documentation / charts for physician(s).
• Enter the patient room with the physician during patient visit to capture and transcribe medical record documentation utilizing electronic medical record applications.
• Updates patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient
• Complies with hospital and medical facility policies, including those relating to HIPAA
• Performs other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned.

Requirements

SCRIBE REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS :

• Administrative writing skills
• Reporting skills
• Organizational skills
• Record-keeping
• Microsoft Office skills
• Professionalism, confidentiality, and organization
• Typing
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree with pre-health career track preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy a plus
• Skilled in various medical record software and hardware, word-processing, and database software programs

SCRIBE DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS :

Minimum of 60 WPM preferred

SCRIBE WORKING CONDITIONS :

• Typical business office environment
• Possibility of local travel
• Constant viewing of computer monitor, mousing and typing
• Frequent standing, walking and sitting
• Frequent stooping, lifting, carrying and pushing / pulling 10 pounds or more
• Occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
• Hours of business are Monday Friday from 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Must be able to work early, late and long hours, as needed, to meet the essential functions of the job.
